Here is a little bit about our Speech & Language Therapy team in the meantime:
Angela Laird
- Speech & Language Therapy Assistant
Angela works across our Dundrum and Downpatrick sites providing Speech and Language Therapy support to children. Angela is also responsible for creating lots of the communication resources, such as visual supports, that our children use and she supports the SLT team with administrative tasks.
Valerie Wilkinson
- Speech & Language Therapist (part time)
Valerie provides support to children and young people across our Dundrum, Downpatrick and Castlewellan sites (all within her three day working week!). Valerie works to support children with speech, language and communication needs and also those who have eating, drinking and swallowing difficulties.
Tora Galbraith
- Speech & Language Therapist
Tora is new to the Knockevin team this school year and works full time, with one day in Dundrum and the rest of her time spent in Downpatrick. You may have spotted Tora on our ‘Makaton Sign of the Week’ videos on Facebook.
Jacinta Burke
- Senior Speech & Language Therapist
Jacinta is our senior therapist for Knockevin School. Jacinta is currently off on maternity leave and we look forward to welcoming her back later in 2022!
Katie Miller
- Speech & Language Therapist (maternity cover)
Katie is our senior therapist who is providing a helping hand to the team one day per week while Jacinta is on maternity leave. Katie is providing support to our pupils with profound and multiple learning disabilities at present. Katie is a member of the Speech and Language Therapy team in Clifton School, Bangor.
